Here it is, the trailer for Vincenzo Natali’s Splice, my second most anticipated film of the summer (right after Inception of course). Natali (Cube) had been trying to get this film made for about a decade and a little help from executive producer Guillermo del Toro made it happen. Along with Natali, the script was co-written by Antoinette Terry Bryant and Doug Taylor. Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley star.
Elsa and Clive, two young rebellious scientists, defy legal and ethical boundaries and forge ahead with a dangerous experiment: splicing together human and animal DNA to create a new organism. Named “Dren”, the creature rapidly develops from a deformed female infant into a beautiful but dangerous winged human-chimera, who forges a bond with both of her creators – only to have that bond turn deadly.
Splice will receive a wide release by Warner Bros on June 4th. Mark that date down!
