An official red band trailer has popped up for the Saturday Night Live spin-off film MacGruber, starring Will Forte as the MacGyver spoof. You can view it at the official site.
I don’t know whether this will prove good or not, but it does look better than most movies based on SNL sketches. Along with Forte the movie stars Kristen Wiig, Val Kilmer, Ryan Phillippe, Maya Rudolph, Bill Hader, Powers Boothe and Rhys Coiro. Forte co-wrote the script with John Solomon and Jorma Taccone, which is the trio behind the show’s sketches as well. Taccone is making his feature debut as director, with experience directing SNL‘s digital shorts and the MacGruber sketches.
MacGruber hits theaters on April 23rd.
