New Inception Trailer Attached to Sherlock Holmes

Thanks to a find on the Nolan Fans forum, it seems a new trailer for Christopher Nolan’s Inception will be attached to Sherlock Holmes when it hits theaters on December 25th. The Warner Bros. exhibitor site lists a combined attachment of Inception‘s new trailer and the Clash of the Titans teaser as being 2 minutes and 30 seconds long. Subtracting the already seen teaser’s length from the total indicates Inception‘s trailer will be 1:24.

I’ve been kind of iffy on seeing Sherlock Holmes in theaters, at least given several other higher priority releases for me, but an Inception trailer will push me over the edge. It’s apparent that Warner Bros. has a knack for that after previously conning me into an IMAX screening of I Am Legend in order to see the prologue for The Dark Knight.

Inception is the next film from writer/director Christopher Nolan. It’s a “contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind” and that it deals with dreams of one sort or another. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, Cillian Murphy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ken Watanabe, Tom Hardy and Tom Berenger. Michael Caine and Dileep Rao have smaller roles as well. DiCaprio plays a CEO-type, Cotillard is his wife, Gordon-Levitt is some sort of associate while Page plays a young grad student who’s at DiCaprio’s character’s side. Watanabe has the villainous role and is blackmailing DiCaprio.

Inception opens on July 16th, 2010.
