Mega Man Returns for a 10th 8-Bit Adventure

Mega Man 10Nintendo Power has provided some previews of its next issue and among the reveals is news that Capcom is hard at work on Mega Man 10, a second throwback to the franchise’s 8-bit roots after the very successful Mega Man 9. (You just gotta love the super cheesy artwork that is accompanying these games, at least in an ironic and nostalgic way.) All of the details will have to wait until the magazine streets, but for now you can check out the first two pages of the piece here. We know that three will be three playable characters from the very start including Mega Man, Proto Man (and all his typical moves) and a still-secret third character. Could it be someone new or perhaps the likes of Bass or Roll? The magazine also spotlights one of the new bosses, Sheep Man, which does indeed resemble a sheep. If you care for more teases, the available text discusses some of the levels and the storyline, though I doubt anyone really cares about the latter as long as there are challenging levels to conquer and robotic bosses with abilities to steal.

A specific release window isn’t mentioned, but given that it’s being announced now, it’ll probably be hitting WiiWare, PSN and Xbox Live services within the first few months of 2010.
