Oh glorious day! There’s an update on Satoshi Kon’s (Millennium Actress, Paprika) next film, The Dreaming Machine. Unfortunately, the little amount of textual story information on the updated site is all embedded in images, so no luck on my side in getting a rudimentary translation. The site has a few more images of backgrounds and some model sheets for the three main characters, who are Ririco (the girl), Robin (the yellow robot) and King (the blue robot). We also know that The Dreaming Machine will be a bit more family friendly than most of Kon’s previous films.
It’s not much, but I’m just excited to see progress on the next project from one of my favorite modern filmmakers. I can’t wait to see more, let alone the finished film. Follow the jump for the rest of the pics.
