Parks and Recreation, Community Picked Up for Full Seasons

Parks and Recreation cast

Last week NBC ordered the back nine episodes for both Parks and Recreation and Community.

Parks and Recreation has been very good this season, so if you haven’t given it a try yet or were turned off by the less stellar first season, check it out. They’ve started getting some good mileage out of the second tier of characters like The Office did early on, so that’s a good indicator. I’m very glad to see that this show will get to continue to develop for at least this full season.

Community posterCommunity has definitely found its die hard fans, but I’m not quite enamored. It’s decent and very easy to watch, but it doesn’t add up to much. It tends to struggle a bit finding stories and mixing up the character interactions. Hopefully they can eventually find something better to do with Chevy Chase’s character, as they’ve already done the same b-story for him twice. The show has moments of brilliance though, and in general I think it’s been improving.

Community and Parks and Recreation air in the first hour of NBC’s Thursday night comedy blocks.
