Disney and ABC have released a trailer/commercial for its upcoming thirty minute Christmas special Prep & Landing.
The short follows an elite group of Santa’s elves who ensure homes are ready for his arrival. Dave Foley voices an elf who believes he’s up for a promotion but finds himself partnered with a new recruit (voiced by Derek Richardson) instead. They face unexpected challenges during the night’s work. Sarah Chalke also provides a voice.
Prep & Landing was originally conceived as a shorter short film by Chris Williams during the initial planning of Disney’s newly reinvigorated shorts program. Williams became too wrapped up in directing Bolt to see the short through so Kevin Deters and Stevie Wermer-Skelton (the duo behind How to Hook Up Your Home Theater) took over the half hour special.
A premiere date has yet to be specified, but Prep & Landing will appear on ABC during the upcoming holiday season.
