The cast for Let Me In, the changed nuance-less title for the Let the Right One In remake, has found three of its lead players. According to Heat Vision, Kodi Smit-McPhee (The Road) takes the lead role of Owen (Oskar in the original), the young troubled boy seeking companionship. Chloe Moretz (Kick-Ass, (500) Days of Summer) will play Abby (originally Eli), Owen’s mysterious new neighbor who turns out to be a vampire. Richard Jenkins (The Visitor, Burn After Reading) will be her character’s adult companion, or familiar for those of you into vampire lore. Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) is writing and directing.

I hardly think this is a film that needs a remake, let alone one so soon, but that is a nice cast. I hated Cloverfield with a serious passion though, so Matt Reeves being the director doesn’t help interest me at all. Anyway, Let Me In is scheduled for release sometime in 2010 and begins shooting this fall.
