Paramount has moved Up in the Air‘s release date around a couple times over the last couple weeks, but they’ve finally settled on a plan. The new schedule shifts the film’s limited debut to December 4th, away from November 13th. The problem with that date was it was just a week after Clooney’s other big fall release, The Men Who Stare at Goats, and it wasn’t going to prove wise for all the parties involved to be stealing business from themselves. So now Up in the Air will begin rolling out on December 4th, although it hasn’t been decided when exactly it will go wide but expect that before the month is out.
Up in the Air stars George Clooney as “a corporate downsizing expert whose cherished life on the road is threatened just as he is on the cusp of reaching ten million frequent flyer miles and just after he’s met the frequent-traveler woman of his dreams.” Vera Farmiga, Jason Bateman, Anna Kendrick, Melanie Lynskey and Danny McBride co-star. Jason Reitman (Thank You For Smoking, Juno) directs from a script he adapted with Sheldon Turner from Walter Kim’s novel.
