Kenneth Branagh has hired two more for his live-action Thor film, based on the Marvel comics. As reported by THR, Jaime Alexander (Kyle XY) boards the project as Sif, an Asgardian warrior and love interest of Thor’s. Colme Feore (24, The Listener) joins the cast as an unspecified villainous role. They join Chris Hemsworth as the title character, Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Thor’s human love interest.
The film’s plot will involve Thor, a powerful yet arrogant warrior, being banished from Asgard to Earth after accidentally reigniting an ancient war. It’s not long before the dark forces of Asgard, presumably lead by Loki and Feore’s character, turn their attentions to humanity leaving Thor to rise to the occasion.
Thor is currently scheduled for release on May 20th, 2011.
