The three lead roles have been cast for the David Fincher directed and Aaron Sorkin scripted Facebook movie, The Social Network. Variety reports that Jesse Eisenberg scored the big role of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. Justin Timberlake will portray Napster co-founder and Facebook founding president Sean Parker. Andrew Garfield will play Eduardo Severin, the co-founder of Facebook who had a major falling out with Zuckerberg during the site’s rise. The film focuses on the birth of the site and the effect of its successes on the main behind-the-scenes players. Production is scheduled to begin next month.
Personally, the only interest I have in this comes from the two big names involved: David Fincher and Aaron Sorkin. Otherwise, I don’t think the story of Facebook is very interesting at all. It’s especially disappointing when Fincher has projects in development that are thousands of times more intriguing, like the adaptation of the Charles Burns comic, Black Hole.
