Warner Bros is putting Kieran and Michele Mulroney to work on a sequel to the upcoming Sherlock Holmes film, in a move demonstrating their expectations for it to be a franchise-worthy hit. Risky Biz also reports that Brad Pitt is in talks to take the role of Holmes nemesis Moriarty and reaffirming plans for the character to make a cameo in the first film. Supposedly the character appears in the shadows, possibly allowing the character’s voice to be added late in the game. The Mulroneys are responsible for the indie superhero flick Paper Man and the aborted Justice League: Mortal project.
Sherlock Holmes will be released on December 25th. Guy Ritchie directs a cast of Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, Rachel McAdams and Mark Strong.
