I don’t think I’ve posted any of the previous Black Dynamite trailers, but now that Apparition is set to release it on October 16th, it seems worthwhile to mention the latest trailer. Black Dynamite is a blaxploitation spoof directed by Scott Sanders and written by Michael Jai White, Byron Minns and Sanders. Michael Jai White stars as Black Dynamite, an ex-CIA operative called back into duty when the mob kills his brother and fills his community with drugs. Byron Minns, Arsenio Hall, Tommy Davidson, Kevin Chapman, Richard Edson, Cedric Yarbrough and many others co-star. Suffice to say it looks hilarious and awesome, especially if you’re familiar with old blaxploitation tropes.
Black Dynamite is also being developed into an animated series by Sony using some of the same folks behind The Boondocks.
