A cool little featurette has been posted concerning The Fantastic Mr. Fox. It shows off the stop-motion animation process behind the film and spends a bit of time talking about the on-location voice recordings. That’s something we’ve known about, but I wouldn’t have guessed they were really acting it all out too. I won’t lie, I get a kick out of watching George Clooney roll across a grassy field in the process of vocalizing an animated character.
The stop-motion animated film is directed by Wes Anderson who wrote the script with Noah Baumbach. It is based on the classic Roald Dahl novel of the same name. The story follows a clever fox as he outsmarts some dimwitted farmers in order to get to their chickens. George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray,Wallace Wolodarsky, Adrien Brody, Brian Cox, Anjelica Huston, Owen Wilson, Michael Gambon, Willem Dafoe and Eric Chase Anderson lend their voices to the characters.
The Fantastic Mr. Fox will open in New York and Los Angeles on November 13th, before going wide on the 25th.
