Guillermo del Toro will produce an adaptation of DC Comics’s Deadman character for Warner Bros, which will be directed by Danish director Nikolaj Arcel (Island of Lost Souls). That’s all the news that’s out on this one, which was first reported by Bloody Disgusting.
Deadman was the stage persona of a trapeze artist, until he is murdered and granted a supernatural return to the pseudo-living by make-believe Hindu goddess Rama-Kushna. Effectively a ghost, he also has the ability to possess the living, enabling him to interact with the world and hunt down his killer. It’s a fairly similar concept to that of The Crow, which also came from the comics world.
