Hiroyuki Sanada and John Hawkes Get Lost Roles

Hiroyuki Sanada, John Hawkes in Lost

Hiroyuki Sanada and John Hawkes have landed recurring roles in the final season of Lost. Hawkes (Deadwood, Eastbound & Down) will play Lennon, who according to The Hollywood Reporter, is a “scruffy, edgy and charismatic spokesperson and translator for the president of a foreign corporation who is far more powerful than it seems from his position.” Meanwhile EW got the scoop about Sanada’s casting and he’s said to have a “significant” role but no further details were provided. The immediate speculation is that he’ll be the aforementioned “president of a foreign corporation” but we’ll see. Sanada’s known to western audiences for his roles in The Last Samurai, Rush Hour 3, Sunshine and Speed Racer, along with Ringu (the original Japanese production of The Ring). He’s quite famous and respected in his homeland.

The sixth and final season of Lost will begin in early 2010. It will consist of eighteen hours.
