Following up on all those photo releases of the last week, Fox Searchlight has given us the full trailer for The Fantastic Mr. Fox.
I’m sold. This looks like zany, slapstick, light-hearted fun and there’s nothing wrong with that. It also looks like the most fun film from Wes Anderson in a long time. The voice actors sound like they’re having a blast and it’s rather infectious. I even like the somewhat clipped animation’s vibe. It’s a good year for stop-motion with this and Coraline, and amazingly enough neither is an Aardman Animations effort.
The stop-motion animated film is directed by Wes Anderson who wrote the script with Noah Baumbach. It is, of course, based on the classic Roald Dahl novel. The story follows a clever fox as he outsmarts the dimwitted farmers in order to get to their chickens. George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray,Wallace Wolodarsky, Adrien Brody, Brian Cox, Anjelica Huston, Owen Wilson, Michael Gambon, Willem Dafoe and Eric Chase Anderson lend their voices to the characters.
The Fantastic Mr. Fox will be released on November 13th.
