Curb’s Seinfeld reunion is actually a Seinfeld reunion!

So HBO’s pimping its wares at the Television Critics Association press tour today, hence all the news. When the time came for discussing Curb Your Enthusiasm, Larry David revealed that the much-touted Seinfeld reunion isn’t just a reunion in the sense of getting those actors into the same room again. The plotline featuring them actually involves the creation of a Seinfeld reunion in this alternate reality! Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, Julia-Louis Dreyfus and Michael Richards are all coming together for four or five episodes as they and Larry David break down and succumb to doing a reunion show. It’s said that we’ll see portions of a new Seinfeld episode but not the whole thing, although we’ll also see the rehearsals and table readings and the shooting. David was asked about whether Michael Richards’s stand-up outburst might get a mention, to which he said it was “possible”.

I was excited before, but now I’m completely psyched. It’s going to be awesome to watch these guys do an alternate reality Seinfeld reunion. Plus, as Larry David added, it’s a fun way to sorta do it without actually doing it.
