Mila Kunis joins Portman in Black Swan

Mila KunisMila Kunis is negotiating to join the cast of Black Swan as the rival to Natalie Portman’s ballerina. The film is about a veteran ballerina in New York City and a competitor whose rivalry escalates as a performance approaches. The twist is that the competitor appears to not be real, either being a ghost or a total hallucination or perhaps something else entirely. Darren Aronofsky is directing with production scheduled for the fall. John McLaughlin wrote the original script while Mark Heyman, one of Aronofsky’s partners at Protozoa Pictures, did a rewrite.

Kunis hasn’t done much in the way of drama, and I haven’t seen what’s been done except for Max Payne, which was awful on all accounts so I won’t hold that against her. I’ve got faith that she’s got what it takes if Aronofsky believes so.
