In November, AMC is set to deliver a six hour miniseries remake of the 1960s show The Prisoner. The new version stars Jim Caviezel, Ian McKellen, Jamie Campbell Bower, Ruth Wilson and Lennie James. Caviezel plays No. 6, who mysteriously finds himself in The Village, an isolated community in the middle of the desert that acknowledges no existence of an outside world. McKellen is No. 2, the apparent boss of The Village and works to make No. 6 conform to the community’s ideas, but the latter only has escape on his mind. The original series has a serious cult following despite never getting an ending and only lasting seventeen episodes. It’s been sitting on my list of shows to watch for a while now, but at this point I may just wait and see the miniseries first.
AMC showed a nine minute preview at Comic Con earlier today, which has fortunately been shared online. I’m assuming that while it appears to show a lot of development that the footage only encompasses the first episode or two, but I’m unsure. Anyway, the preview follows:
On a tangent, I love that the first piece of music in the preview is We Fell to Earth’s “The Double”.
Wired has two nice interviews with Jim Caviezel and Ian McKellen.

The original Prisoner never got an ending?!?
It got the only satisfactory ending such a thing could have gotten.
You are correct, thank you. I’m not sure why I’ve been mistaken about that.
