David Lynch’s album of modern ’50s music

Fox Bat Strategy: A Tribute to Dave JaurequiEntertainment Weekly has the scoop that in two weeks time David Lynch will release a seven-track album called Fox Bat Strategy: A Tribute to Dave Jaurequi. It’s what he refers to as “modern ’50s music,” basically music that captures the “feel of innocence and pain mingling” with modern production values. Lynch wrote the lyrics and produced the music while the late Dave Jaurequi played guitar and handled vocals. The rest of the band is made up of fellows who can be glimpsed as the session players in Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. EW has one of the tracks, “Shoot the Works,” available for listening. It definitely transports me into certain scenes from Blue Velvet. If the other six tracks are as good as this one, the album will be a real treat.

Fox Bat Strategy: A Tribute to Dave Jaurequi will be released on June 30th and is up for preorder at Amazon.
