Trailer: The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard

After about a dozen different titles, it seems Jeremy Piven’s big lead film has settled on The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard. Piven’s Don Ready leads a foursome of great used car salesmen hired to make a flailing dealership’s July 4th sales event a huge success. The film co-stars David Koechner, Ving Rhames, Kathryn Hahn, Ken Jeong, Ed Helms, Alan Thicke, Rob Riggle, and Tony Hale. Neal Brennan (Dave Chappelle’s former writing partner and director of Totally Awesome) directed while Andy Stock and Rick Stempson wrote the screenplay.

Looks like it could be decent fun along the lines of recent Will Ferrell comedies. It’s got a solid supporting cast. Hell, I see Steve Byrne listed in the credits and I enjoyed his standup a few years back at the Comedy Cellar. Good for him. The idea was originally crafted by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay for the former to star. If I recall, the first script was done before Anchorman came out.

The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard is scheduled to hit theaters on August 14th.
