Wow, now that’s some casting that’s guaranteed to prove incredibly interesting. John Lithgow is set to play “Walter Simmons, an unassuming, mild-mannered suburbanite who has been living a dual life as one of America’s most prolific and deadliest serial killers.” His character has been dubbed the “Trinity Killer” because he kills in threes. He relocates to Miami, bringing Special Agent Frank Lundy (Keith Carradine) back into the fold. Of course Dexter is put on the investigative team and he finds himself fascinated with the Trinity Killer’s unique methods and his ability to remain uncaught for three decades.
John Lithgow is awesome in pretty much anything, but it should be certain fun to watch him play a serial killer. Now if only we didn’t have to wait four months to see it. If I recall, when Dexter returns Dexter and Rita’s baby will have already been born as well.
Dexter‘s fourth season premieres on Showtime on September 27th.
