The trailer for Surrogates has debuted. The film is about a world where humans no longer leave their home, instead mentally inhabiting surrogate robots that interact with the world without danger. Surrogates picks up when a human is murdered via the link between him and his surrogate, leaving FBI agents played by Bruce Willis and Radha Mitchell to investigate. Rosamund Pike, Ving Rhames and James Francis Ginty co-star. It’s directed by Jonathan Mostow and written by Michael Ferris and John D. Brancato. Based on The Surrogates comic series by Robert Venditti and Brett Weldele.
As I said with the previous featurette that turned up, it reminds me a lot of I, Robot with the futuristic murder mystery that has massive implications for a technology that has become commonplace and second nature. Plus, robots. Hopefully it’s at least decent. The world could always use more good sci-fi films.
Surrogates will hit theaters on September 25th.
