When Fringe moves to Vancouver for its second season, it’ll be without Kirk Acevedo who plays Agent Charlie Francis. The actor vented on his Facebook page that he had been fired.
WELL BOYS AND GIRLS THEY DONE DID YER BOY WRONG! THEY FIRED ME OFF OF FRINGE, AND IVE NEVER BEEN FIRED IN MY LIFE!!!!
First word of this came from The ODI. Later, Fringe Television said they confirmed it with an inside source. I do find it interesting that the screen capture of his Facebook page has a different birth year than IMDb, but you know actors and claiming they’re younger than they actually are.
Along with this, SpoilerTV found a casting call for Fringe looking for a female FBI agent.
[KATHERINE]
MID TO LATE TWENTIES. FBI AGENT SHE IS ATTRACTIVE, BRASH, OUTSPOKEN,QUICK-WITTED AND CAPABLE. CATHERINE HAS A STRONG PERSONAL CENTER THAT COMES FROM A DEEP CORE BELIEF IN THE WONDERS OF THE UNIVERSE. (RECURRING WITH POSSIBLE OPTION FOR SR) PLEASE SUBMIT ALL ETHNICITIES
So, the show’s getting rid of Agent Francis and maybe bringing a new female agent in to replace his role within the cast? Seems weird, especially since the show actually delivered a glimpse of his home life towards the end of the season. I do think it makes sense for Olivia to have a hands-on FBI partner, since it’s kinda odd for Peter to go out with her as a civilian without a gun. I’ll be interested to see why it can’t remain Francis…
Should be interesting to see how the show returns, what with its finale and at least one casting change.
