NBC picked up Parks and Recreation for a second season. Hopefully the writers can spend the summer figuring out how to kick it into high gear like what happened with The Office. Parks and Recreation‘s first season hasn’t had anything quite like “Diversity Day” or “The Alliance” but I definitely see potential for the show to shine. Comedies often have to find their footing a bit, and assuming they get picked up afterwards, short midseason replacement positions can work out great, as with The Office and Newsradio. The creative team gets their feet wet without committing to too much before having a couple months to tinker and work out the kinks.
The show stars Amy Poehler, Rashida Jones, Aziz Ansari, Paul Schneider, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza and Chris Pratt. Parks and Recreation has two more episodes to air of its six episode first season.
