The cast for Christopher Nolan’s Inception continues to add more talent. This time around there’s news that Ken Watanabe and Tom Hardy are joining. Watanabe is known to western audiences for The Last Samurai, Memoirs of a Geisha and Batman Begins, and is said to be playing Inception’s villain, a character blackmailing DiCaprio’s. Tom Hardy has appeared in the likes of Layer Cake, Marie-Antoinette and RocknRolla while recently receiving raves for starring in Nicolas Winding Refn’s Bronson. Hardy’s negotiating to be a member of DiCaprio’s team.
As little has yet to be revealed about the plot, Inception is a “a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind” that also stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, Cillian Murphy and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Michael Caine has a small role as well. Shooting is scheduled to begin this summer while the film is due for release on July 16th, 2010.
