At long last, a true glimpse at Where the Wild Things Are. Spike Jonze directs a script he co-wrote with Dave Eggers and based, of course, on the famous Maurice Sendak book. Max is played by Max Records and his mother is portrayed by Catherine Keener. The wild things are voiced by the likes of Forest Whitaker, Paul Dano, James Gandolfini, Catherine O’Hara, Lauren Ambrose and Tom Noonan. Where the Wild Things Are hits theaters on November 16th.
I can safely say that I am super excited after seeing this, although I’m also incredibly fearful for its box office prospects. I remain scared that this will end up another Speed Racer, an absolutely wonderful film but one that doesn’t have an easily identifiable demographic. Oh well, at the very least, the film looks great thus far.
