Tim Schafer and his Double Fine Productions have put together a fun little old school adventure game where you play as Schafer trying to find jokes for his hosting duties at the Game Developers Conference. It’s as funny and bizarrely puzzling as you would expect. If you don’t recognize Schafer’s name, he did a lot of the writing on The Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge. Then he co-designed Day of the Tentacle. If that wasn’t enough, he’s the genius behind Full Throttle and my favorite game of all time, Grim Fandango. In 2000 he left LucasArts and founded Double Fine Productions, where he created Psychonauts and is currently working on Brutal Legend, a heavy metal action/adventure game featuring Jack Black. Basically, he’s one of the gods of adventure gaming.
