Trailer #2: Terminator Salvation

Terminator Salvation

Terminator Salvation

The second trailer for Terminator Salvation is up over at Yahoo! Movies. This trailer confirms what the last one eluded to: Marcus (Sam Worthington’s character) is a machine. Alongside that, we get more of the plot, which seems to revolve around the resistance’s discovery, through Marcus, that the machines are experimenting with human flesh and that they will be successful in masking themselves as human. Unless of course, the future can be changed…

This movie is looking amazing. It seems to give us everything we wanted in humans and machines tearing each other apart across a post-apocalyptic landscape. I love the heavy, hulking machines mowing everything down with gattling guns. I love the homage to The Terminator‘s climax with the T-800 (?) dragging itself across the ground. I love how they get away with showing headshots in the trailer since they’re inflicted on machines. I’m amped to see this. McG and Warner Bros. are going to have a huge hit on their hands come May 21st.

I hope with the use of the classic theme music that it is an indication it’ll at least be used for the end credits sequence in this one. Last we heard it was up in the air over whether it’d be incorporated in any form.

The song playing over the trailer is “The Day the World Went Away” by Nine Inch Nails. Not just an appropriate title, NIN’s music is practically designed to play over content like this.
