Hal Jordan

Hal Jordan

The latest DC Comics direct-to-video animated movie streets next week in the form of Wonder Woman, and with that comes information on what follows.

The immediate follow-up is Green Lantern: First Flight, follows Hal Jordan in what’s described as an cop thriller in space, focusing on the Green Lantern Corps’ role in intergalactic policing. Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) voices Hal Jordan, Victor Garber (Alias, Eli Stone, Milk) voices Sinestro, Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs, Sin City) voices Kilowog and Tricia Welfer (Battlestar Galactica) voices Boodikka. The movie takes place primarily off Earth dealing with Hal Jordan’s partnership with the veteran Sinestro, and their differing approaches to the job, ala Training Day. Lauren Montgomery (Superman: Doomsday, Wonder Woman) directs. It is not directly based off any previous story. Green Lantern: First Flight is currently scheduled for release in the summer.

After that, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies is expected to be the next installment, presumably based on the Jeph Loeb story that launched the Superman/Batman comic. This arc involved President Lex Luthor declaring Batman and Superman enemies of the state, alleging a relation between them and a kryptonite asteroid headed towards Earth.

Meanwhile, word is that two Batman solo adventures are being developed for the future, although these plans always change, as evidenced by several direct-to-video features that have been developed and then put on indefinite hold, like Teen Titans: The Judas Contract.
