Sony Pictures Classics has purchased the rights to distribute Duncan Jones’s Moon in the United States. Sam Rockwell stars as an astronaut at a mining installation on the moon nearing the end of his tour when an accident occurs and strange happenings ensue. Kevin Spacey voices a robot. Duncan Jones directed the film which just debuted at Sundance. Sony Pictures Classics plans to release the film in theaters come June. I for one was really looking forward to Moon even before the reviews rolled in, but since they’ve been good, I’m now psyched. Nothing gets me going like really good science fiction.
