NBC announced yesterday that The Office and 30 Rock will be returning for their sixth and fourth seasons, respectively. I’d love to see 30 Rock‘s newfound ratings success and network confidence let it have fewer guest star-centric episodes in the future. Can we get back to seeing the supporting cast once or twice an episode? When’s the last time we even saw the writers’ room?
In related news, Michael Ausiello reports that Amy Ryan may be returning to reprise her Holly Flax character for The Office‘s season finale. Executive producer Greg Daniels also adds that they may try to secure her for a longer run in the future. Sounds like they won’t go a route that involves her just appearing once in a while due to how much that would affect Michael’s character, but if availability and whatnot could work out, she might return more permanently.
